Training Structure
As per Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) guidelines, the course is completed through three mandatory stages:
- DGS E-Learning Module
- Physical Classroom Training
- DGS Online Exit Examination
Course Details
Course Name: Elementary First Aid (EFA)

Note: All documents must be uploaded in PDF format and should be less than 1 MB in size.
Course Completion Process
Step 1 – DGS E-Learning
Candidates must complete the mandatory DGS E-Learning module before attending physical classes.
Step 2 – Physical Training
Candidates are required to attend all classroom and practical sessions at PMA. Attendance is mandatory throughout the course.
Step 3 – DGS Exit Examination
After successfully completing the E-Learning and Physical Training, candidates become eligible for the DGS Online Exit Examination.
- Exit Exam fee is payable separately.
- Candidates are allowed up to three attempts to clear the examination.
- Re-enrolment may be required if the examination is not cleared within the permitted attempts.
Exit Examination
The first attempt of the DGS Exit Exam must be taken immediately after course completion at the PMA Exam Hall. Failure to appear for the examination may result in non-issuance of the certificate as per DGS regulations.

- Minimum Contact Hours: 9 Hours
- Minimum Pass Mark: 50%
Facial Verification
Candidates must ensure that their photograph and signature are updated in their Seafarer Profile before attending the course.

- Size: 3.5 cm × 3.5 cm
- White Background
Signature Requirements
- Size: 1.5 cm × 3.5 cm
- Black Pen on White Background
Dress Code
All candidates are required to maintain a neat and professional appearance throughout the training period.
For Gents: Formal attire is mandatory.
For Ladies: Chudi or formal attire is mandatory.
Candidates who do not adhere to the prescribed dress code may not be permitted to attend classes.
Important Notes
- Course schedules are tentative and may change according to DGS or Government directives.
- A confirmation email containing course instructions will be sent after successful registration.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must possess the following:
- Valid Indian CDC
- Old Elementary First Aid (EFA) Certificate
Cancellation & Refund Policy
- For course Cancellation send a mail to payments@pondicherrymaritime.com along with your bank account mention IFSC code too.
- The Refund amount will be done by online payment in the account details provided by the candidate within 7 working days.
- For course date Postpone 10% of the Course fee will be collected from the candidate.
- For Practical Courses once booked Payment will not be refunded or shifting of courses cannot be done.
