SECURITY TRAINING FOR SEAFARERS WITH DESIGNATED SECURITY DUTIES (STSDSD)

Training Structure

As per Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) guidelines, the course is completed through three mandatory stages:

1. DGS E-Learning Module
2. Physical Classroom Training
3. DGS Online Exit Examination

Course Details

Course Name: Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (STSDSD)

Duration: 2 Days

Required Documents

1. Passport
2. Basic Safety Training (BST) Certificate or Individual Certificates (EFA, PSSR, FPFF & PST)
3. Completed DGS E-Learning Module

Note: Documents must be uploaded in PDF format and should be less than 1 MB in size.

Course Completion Process

Step 1 – DGS E-Learning

Candidates must complete the mandatory DGS E-Learning module online before attending physical classes.

Step 2 – Physical Training

Candidates are required to attend all classroom sessions at PMA. Attendance is mandatory.

Step 3 – DGS Exit Examination

Upon successful completion of the E-Learning and Physical Training, candidates become eligible for the DGS Online Exit Examination.

1. Exit Exam fee is payable separately.
2. Candidates are allowed up to three attempts.
3. Re-enrolment may be required if the examination is not cleared within the permitted attempts.

Exit Examination

The first attempt of the DGS Exit Exam must be taken immediately after course completion at the PMA Exam Hall. Failure to appear for the first attempt may affect certificate issuance as per DGS regulations.

DGS Requirements:

1. Minimum Contact Hours: 6 Hours
2. Minimum Pass Mark: 50%

Facial Verification

Candidates must update their photograph and signature in their Seafarer Profile before attending the course.

Photo Requirements

1. Size: 3.5 cm × 3.5 cm
2. White Background

Signature Requirements

1. Size: 1.5 cm × 3.5 cm
2. Black Pen on White Background

Dress Code

All candidates are required to maintain a neat and professional appearance throughout the training period.

For Gents: Formal attire is mandatory.

For Ladies: Chudi or formal attire is mandatory.

Candidates who do not adhere to the prescribed dress code may not be permitted to attend classes.

1. Course schedules are tentative and may change according to DGS or Government directives.
2. A confirmation email with course instructions will be sent after successful registration.

This course is open to all seafarers who possess a valid INDOS Number and have successfully completed Basic Safety Training (BST).
